2010 ALL-PACIFIC TEAMS
Familiar faces dot the Pacific Conference awards while youth is also served

SACRAMENTO, CA (07/30/10) - The Pacific Conference has been the "terra firma" of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the region of the country where this league was born & raised. Now that the WPSL is in its maturity, new blood & life from teams like LAFC Chelsea & North Bay F.C. has been transfused, re-energizing the likes of multiple National Champions Ajax America and the California Storm.

When it came to the 2010 All-Pacific Conference awards, there was plenty of recognition for those older teams while the newer franchises also received their fair share of accolades. Nothing is more true to that form than the Pacific Co-Players Of The Year and the coach who led one of those players into their teams' first WPSL post-season appearance:

PACIFIC CO-PLAYER OF THE YEAR
D Dani Bosio (AJAX AMERICA)
MF Ann Marie Tangorra (LAFC CHELSEA)

"Something veteran, something new" typifies the pair who share Conference Player Of The Year honors this season, as Bosio has been the spiritual leader of a strong Ajax America defense for the past five years while Tangorra is one of the young rising stars in the league. The 2008 Final Four Co-MVP (alongside her sister Kiki) has led her teammates to a fifth consecutive Final Four appearance this summer - a WPSL record. Tangorra led the league in assists and was a youthful picture of confidence & skill, helping LAFC qualify for the Pacific playoffs in their inaugural season.

PACIFIC GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR
GK Cori Alexander (CALIFORNIA STORM)

In a conference where you could throw a dart blindly and easily hit a quality goalkeeper - who would probably save it anyways - the former WPS Sky Blue F.C. & U.S. U-23 international shot-stopper takes the top honor. Alexander was the chief architect in seven shutouts for the 12-2-0 Storm this season, and a defense that allowed only nine goals in North Division play. With a team that boasted the talents of Alex Morgan, Brandi Chastain and Sissi this season, the Portland Pilot was rated the top player from her team.

PACIFIC COACH OF THE YEAR
Emanuel Martins (LAFC CHELSEA)

At the start of the 2010 season, Emanuel "Manny" Martins already had plenty of WPSL coaching experience under his belt as the former mentor of the Los Angeles Rampage. He took that experience and built upon it to propel his team into the Pacific playoffs in LAFC's first year in the South Division. Considering the competition his team had to face in a tough divisional race - that eventually had to be decided by tie-breaks - and its easy to surmise the quality of his coaching endeavor.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Does my car have to be running?
Not always. It does have to have an engine and be towable.

Sometimes if the cost to transport a vehicle will cost more than what it will bring at auction, it may be declined.
